1. Who do I contact if I need assistance ordering a flag?
Contact the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms at (512) 463-0910 for assistance or for more information.

2. How do I get a certificate for my flag?
Only flags that are flown over the Texas Capitol are eligible to receive a certificate.

3. What is the certificate?
The certificate authenticates that the flag was flown over the Texas Capitol. It will display the State Seal of Texas and will be signed by an official of the House of Representatives. The certificate can be personalized with the name of the person receiving the flag, the name of the person presenting the flag, and the occasion for which the flag was flown.

4. Who will sign my certificate?
All certificates will be signed by the Sergeant-at-Arms.

5. What if I want my state representative to sign the certificate?
Contact your state representative to order your flag and certificate through his or her office.

6. What if I order more than one flag? Can the certificates be personalized?
If you request more than one flag of the same size and material to be flown on the same date, the name of the person receiving each flag can be different on each certificate. However, all other information must remain the same. Otherwise to obtain individually personalized certificates, you must submit each flag as a separate item on your order.

7. Can I have a flag flown on a holiday or a weekend?
Yes, flags may be flown on any day of the year. However, the orders must be received during regular business hours of the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. -5 p.m. CST.

8. Can I have a flag flown today?
Yes. However, the order must be received by 3 p.m. CST today.

9. What if I want a flag flown but I do not have all the information needed to complete the certificate? For instance, my child was born today but we have not named him yet.
If you do not know the name of the person who will be receiving the flag, you may leave the name blank. Once the order is placed, you will receive an e-mail that indicates the certificate information was incomplete. You can provide the recipient's name at a later date by replying to the e-mail.

10. Can I have my own personal Texas flag or U.S. flag flown over the Texas Capitol?
Yes. Please contact the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms at (512) 463-0910 for more information about this service.

11. How do I pay for my order?
If you requested that the flag be mailed to you, send a check or money order payable to the Texas House of Representatives to:

Payment must be received before pick-up or delivery can be made. All sales are final and no refunds will be given. If paying in cash, please provide the exact amount of the order. Change cannot be provided.
